First Aid/CPR

    Educational Objectives

    Total: 8 Hours / 1 Day
    First Aid – (4 hrs. theory/4 hrs. lab)
    Designed to prepare the student for emergency treatment of injuries that can occur in a Maritime or Industrial environment. Graduates may receive credit for meeting the CPR and First Aid require-ment for U.S. Coast Guard Licensing.

    Any applicant who successfully completes First Aid & CPR course (CHAPSS-197) course will satisfy:
    • The First Aid and CPR training requirements of 46 CFR 11.201(i)(1), provided that this training was completed within one year of the date of application; AND
    • The Elementary First Aid stand-ards of competence required by STCW Code Section A-VI/1 and Table A-VI/1-3, as amended 2010, meeting the National Assessment Guidelines from NVIC 08-14 Tasks 4.1.A – 4.9. A Inclusive: NVICSs 12-14(Ch-2) and 02-18 Task 19.3; and NVIC 13-14(Ch-1)Task 13.3.A.
    • This course also satisfies the training, standards of competence, or practical assessment required for STCW certification.

Marine Radio Operators Permit

    This 4-hour course confers the authority to operate licensed radio stations in the aviation, marine, and international fixed Public Radio Services. The course also includes the 1 hour FCC exam and license application.

    5:30 pm to 9:30 pm

    Non-Refundable Tuition for Non-Licensed Training students: $215*
    License training students already enrolled: $200*

USCG License Package Review Service

    Let us help you negotiate the process of applying for new credentials or renewing or adding to your existing Merchant Mariner Credential.

    Service includes :
    • Checklists for New Applications, Renewals, and Raises in grade for Merchant Mariner Credentials
    • Checklist for www.pay.gov
    • Provision of Electronic copies of required USCG forms
    • Guidance for Drug Testing and Physical requirements.
    • Full in-depth review of your completed USCG package.
    • Submission of your Package electronically to the USCG Regional Examination Center on your behalf.

Course Descriptions

    First Aid/CPR

    (4 hrs. theory/4 hrs. lab) Designed to prepare the student for emergency treatment of injuries that can occur in a Maritime or Industrial environment.

    This course is approved by the United States Coast Guard. Successful completion of this course satisfies: The First Aid and CPR Training requirements of 46 CFR11.201(i)(1)(ii) and 46 CFR 11.201(i)(2)(iii), PROVIDED that this training was completed within one year of the date of application; AND The Elementary First Aid standards of competence required by 46 CFR 11.302(a)(3) and 12.602(a)(3); STCW Code Section A-VI/1 and Table A-VI/1-3, as amended 2010, meeting the National Assessment Guidelines from NVIC 08-14(Ch-1) Tasks 4.1.A, 4.1.B, 4.1.C, 4.1.D, 4.1.E, 4.2.A, 4.3.A, 4.3.B, 4.4.A, 4.4.B, 4.4.C, 4.4.D, 4.4.E, 4.4.F, 4.4.G, 4.4.H, 4.4.I, 4.5.A, 4.6.A, 4.6.B, 4.7.A, 4.7.B, 4.7.C, 4.8.A, 4.8.B, 4.8.C, 4.8.D, and 4.9.A.

Admission

    The successful student must have solid English and math skills. In addition, the student must be 18 years of age and be in good health.

    Students must submit a signed Registration Form and have an official photo ID on the first day of class.

    • Unless listed otherwise, the non-refundable tuition deposit is due with the Registration Form.
    • The tuition balance is due 10 days before the start of class.
    • For some courses, the entire fee is due with Registration Form and is non-refundable.
    • All major credit cards are accepted.
    • If a credit card is used as the method of payment, a convenience fee of 3.0% of the total amount charged will apply to all transactions.
On-Campus Housing

    Student Housing

    • Apartments have a bedroom, convertible living room/ bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, and covered porch. Apartments are air-conditioned, furnished, and equipped with a countertop range, refrigerator, and cooking utensils.
    • Number of students per apartment is generally a maximum of two.
    • Housing is offered on a space-available basis.
    • The school is not responsible for the loss of any personal property. Sorry, no pets.

    Housing Fees: (Shared Rate)

    Housing Fee $80/Night
    • For a second or third person in a party add $20 per night/ per person
    • Housing includes utilities.
    • If a credit card is used as the original method of payment, a convenience fee of 3.0% of the total amount charged will apply for all transactions.
    • Housing fees are due 10 days prior to the start of class

    Housing Refund

    • If a student cancels prior to the start of class, housing fees will be refunded
    • Once a student moves into the facilities no fees will be refunded.
    • If a credit card was used as the original method of payment, a convenience fee of 3.0% of the total amount refunded will apply for all transactions.
    • In the event of damage to the accommodations, the student will be responsible for all costs required to repair the damaged school property.
    • Applicable refunds are made within thirty (30) days.

    Transfer & Refund Policy

    • If the registration is not accepted by the School, all payments will be fully refunded.
    • If Cancellation is requested within (3) business days after signing the Registration Form, all payments will be refunded in accordance with the right to cancel
    • If the School cancels the program due to insufficient student enrollment, I may be rescheduled to a future class, or all payments made will be refunded.
    • In the event I am unable to attend the class for which I am registered, he following change/refund policy will apply:
      1. If cancellation is requested more than three (3) business days after signing the Registration Form, but before the beginning of classroom instruction, the applicant is obligated for the non-refundable Tuition Deposit.
      2. Where notice is provided to the School more than fourteen (14) days before the start of class, a student may transfer to another class upon payment of a $50.00 transfer fee.
      3. Where notice is provided to the school less than (3) business days before the start of class to cancel or if I do not arrive for a scheduled class, or wish to withdraw from class, I may be obligated for the full amount of the tuition.
